As Governor, I will focus my attention on several priorities I believe we must address in order to achieve a better future for Tennessee:

More and Better Jobs

• Invest in the roads and bridges and other infrastructure across the state so that we can more viably compete for new and expanding business

Safer Communities

• Fix serious flaws in Tennessee's criminal justice system so that we do a better job of holding serious offenders by keeping them off our streets and in prison
• Advance the concept of judge-supervised treatment programs so that we address the underlying problem of drug addiction that drives so much of our crime
• Attack juvenile truancy that leads to serious criminal activity

Better Schools

• Change the status quo in our public schools
• Encourage innovation
• Demand and reward excellence in teaching
